Air Duct Cleaning

It seems like the going rage now is to get your air conditioning ducts cleaned. Many businesses will try to push you to get them cleaned early and often, even if your HVAC system is new! 

What we would ask you is have you been experiencing allergy symptoms or sickness in your home that is different than normal seasonal issues? If so, then you may need air duct cleaning. If there is a lot of dust buildup we can make sure you are aware of that. If your electric bill has increased over a period of time and you can't seem to pinpoint the reason, then maybe an inspection of your ductwork is needed. Dust layers can make your HVAC system inefficient. Once your ducts are cleaned you may notice your electric bill lessen.

Dust can also aggravate allergies and asthma due to pollen and materials leftover from remodeling or construction. Sometimes mold will be found in the ducts as well, indicating that there is moisture somewhere that needs to be investigated. 

The job of the fan inside your air handler is to keep the heat exchanger cool. As dirt and debris accumulate the CFM (cubic feet of air per minute) can reduce by up to 50%. Dirt and dust are one of the main reasons systems fail. One common cause, if not the most common, is from cracks in the heat exchanger. Having your ducts and HVAC system cleaned may prevent the breakdown/aging of your heating and cooling system, if caught early enough.

Now that we are on the subject of clean air ducts, have you ever thought about your dryer vents? When your dryer vent is clogged you're opening yourself up to a serious fire hazard. When the dryer vent becomes filled with lint the efficiency of the dryer is decreased and the heat from the dryer can increase the heat in the vent and actually begin to ignite a fire.
